Plaintiff sustained personal injuries when her car
was rear ended by defendant's vehicle. Plaintiff had
no visible injuries or loss of consciousness and was
not treated at the scene and sought no immediate medical
attention, but ultimately came under the care of a
neurologist and orthopedist with complaints suggestive
of post-concussion syndrome and soft tissue injuries.
Plaintiff alleged that she suffered traumatic brain
injury in the accident. Plaintiff's experts included
a neuropsychologist, who documented plaintiff's cognitive
deficits, an orthopedist, a neurologist, a physiatrist,
who testified regarding plaintiff's future rehabilitation
needs, and various other experts knowledgeable about
closed head injuries as well as a vocational economist
who testified regarding plaintiff's impaired earning
capacity as an artist. Defendant denied that plaintiff
had sustained any injuries or that she was disabled
as a result of her injuries.
