Negligence – Slip And Fall-Closed Head Injuries
Closed head injuries
Plaintiff was attending a conference at a hotel in Taunton. While she was walking down an aisle to her seat in the amphitheater, she fell and allegedly hit her head against the adjoining desk. She continued to attend the conference and returned to her home in Albany, N.Y. She then sought medical attention with her family physician and over the course of time was referred to various specialists.
Plaintiff’s experts included a treating physician specializing in closed head injuries, a neurologist, a physiatrist and a neuropsychologist, who all diagnosed plaintiff with cognitive impairments resulting from a closed head injury due to her fall. Plaintiff also had an engineering expert evaluating liability and an economist. Defendants and their experts denied that plaintiff had sustained any injury or that they had any liability for the fall.
